Airborne Operations Manager
Bluesky is recruiting for an experienced Airborne Operations Manager. This is a rare opportunity to join the senior team and lead the Airborne Operations team at the UK’s leading aerial survey company. Bluesky is committed to delivering and maintaining nationwide aerial imagery programmes of both Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. Bluesky also undertakes bespoke commissioned imagery and LiDAR projects for public and private sector clients.
We are on the lookout for a talented and driven individual with a solid background in airborne operations management. The successful candidate will be organised, have attention to detail, be a proficient communicator – both written and orally – with team management skills and up-to-date knowledge of aerial camera/sensor operation.
Our flight operations cover the UK and the Republic of Ireland, with additional project-based opportunities in Europe and beyond. The role of the Airborne Operations Manager includes management of our suite of aircraft and sensors.
The role includes working closely with the Bluesky Board and the Production Team to achieve this and satisfy customer demand.
The role is a full-time position that is based out of Birmingham Airport and Bluesky’s head office in Ashby de la Zouch.
Requirements:
- A working knowledge and experience of UK and Republic of Ireland’s Airspace
- Demonstrable experience of working in an airborne operations role
- Demonstrable experience of team management
- A high standard of written and verbal communications, able to communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Experience of the installation and operation of aerial sensors and cameras, with responsibility for handling maintenance schedules
- An ability to work well as part of a team
- Technically astute
- Attention to detail and highly organised
- Must be eligible to work in the UK with no sponsorship requirements
