Bluesky International has appointed Europa Technologies as an authorised reseller for the National Tree Map (NTM). The NTM is the foremost environmental database of its kind. With coverage across Great Britain and Ireland, it contains the location, height and canopy/crown extents for trees 3m and above in height.

The National Tree Map is used to meet challenges across various market sectors. As well as applications in forestry, environmental management and government planning, the NTM is a valuable tool for insurers in the mitigation of risk posed by subsidence, flood and structural damage. Transportation networks can use the product to minimise disruption and damage caused by falling trees and even leaf-fall. Utility companies can use the NTM as a core reference in the maintenance of subterranean assets, as well as those above ground.

In addition to all common GIS data formats, Europa Technologies will supply the NTM as a service through its award-winning viaEuropa platform. Featuring beautiful cartography, the NTM can be consumed using OGC-compliant services and visualised over imagery or base maps such as OS VectorMap Local and OS MasterMap Topography layer.

Warren Vick, Director of Europa Technologies, said, “We are delighted to be appointed as a reseller of Bluesky’s National Tree Map. This impressive product has a wide variety of applications and is a notable addition to our extensive data portfolio. We are particularly excited to offer the NTM through our viaEuropa platform, where it forms a natural complement to our imagery and base map offerings.”
